Specsmakers Return, Warranty, Replacement & Refund Policy

1. Warranty Policy

1.1 Frames Warranty

Specs-Assist Warranty Protection Program
All frames purchased with the Specs-Assist Warranty Protection Program are covered under a 1-year manufacturing defect warranty from the date of purchase.

Without Specs-Assist Coverage
Frames purchased without Specs-Assist coverage are eligible only for a 90-day manufacturing defect warranty from the date of purchase.

Warranty Coverage
Warranty applies only to manufacturing defects, as assessed solely at the discretion of Specsmakers.

Covered Under Warranty

  • Frame breakage at spring or hinge
  • Frame coating peel-off

Not Covered Under Warranty

  • Frame corrosion
  • Discoloration or fading
  • Scratches on frames
  • Size-related issues
  • Temple sleeves
  • Clip-on falling off
  • General wear and tear
  • Accidental damage

1.2 Lens Warranty

Specs-Assist Warranty Protection Program
All lenses purchased with the Specs-Assist Warranty Protection Program are covered under a 1-year manufacturing defect warranty from the date of purchase.

Without Specs-Assist Coverage
Lenses purchased without Specs-Assist coverage are not eligible for any manufacturing defect warranty.

Warranty Coverage
Warranty applies only to manufacturing defects, as assessed solely at the discretion of Specsmakers.

Covered Under Warranty

  • Lens coating peel-off
  • Spots on lenses

Not Covered Under Warranty

  • Breakage of lenses of any index type
  • Chipping or cracks on lenses
  • Scratches on lenses
  • Thickness-related concerns
  • Accidental damage
  • General wear and tear

Important Lens Information

  • 1.5 index lenses are not impact resistant.
  • 1.6 / 1.67 / 1.74 / 1.76 index lenses are impact resistant only and are not unbreakable.

Adaptation & Power Issues
Any adaptation or power-related concerns must be reported within 14 days from the date of purchase.

1.3 Products Not Covered Under Warranty
Specsmakers does not provide warranty under any circumstances for:

  • Reading Glasses
  • Sunglasses
  • Computer Glasses
  • Contact Lenses
  • Accessories
2. Free Spectacle Services

The following complimentary services are available for spectacles and are not covered under warranty:

  • Frame screw adjustment and replacement
  • Frame temple tightening
  • Frame misalignment correction
  • Nose pad replacement
3. Replacement Policy

In the event of a valid warranty claim, the product will be repaired wherever feasible.

If repair is not possible, a replacement will be suggested.

Frame Replacement Terms

  • Replacement will be provided with the same model, subject to availability.
  • If the same frame is unavailable, an alternate frame of the same value that fits the existing lenses will be provided.
  • If a higher-priced frame is selected, the customer must pay the price difference.
  • If a lower-priced frame is selected, the balance amount will not be refunded in cash, credit, or any other form.
  • If the selected replacement frame cannot accommodate the existing lenses, the customer must purchase new lenses separately.
  • Specsmakers will not replace lenses if a suitable frame matching the existing lens shape is unavailable.

Replacement Timeline
Minimum 7–10 business days may be required for replacement processing.

4. Cancellation Policy

Orders once placed cannot be cancelled at any stage, as products are customized based on individual eye power requirements.

Orders must be collected within 60 days from the date of order placement.

Failure to collect the order within this period will result in automatic cancellation of the order, and any advance payment made will not be refunded.

5. Exchange Policy

Exchange requests are subject to product eligibility and warranty terms.

  • If the same frame is unavailable, customers may select an alternate frame of the same value.
  • If a higher-priced frame is selected, the customer must pay the difference amount.
  • If a lower-priced frame is selected, the remaining balance amount will not be refunded.
  • If the selected replacement frame is incompatible with the existing lenses, customers will be required to purchase new lenses separately.
6. Return & Refund Policy

Specsmakers does not offer refunds under any circumstances.

In case of approved disputes, refunds, if any, will only be issued in the form of a Specsmakers Credit Note.

Any approved cancellation or refund adjustment will only be processed through a future purchase credit note.

7. Prescription & Product Liability

Specsmakers’ liability is limited to dispensing spectacle lenses or prescription sunglasses strictly as per the prescription provided by the customer or prescribed by a Specsmakers optometrist.

For outside prescriptions, Specsmakers shall not be liable for prescription errors or later prescription changes.

No replacement will be provided in case the outside prescription is incorrect or subsequently changed.

Lens Thickness Disclaimer

Lens thickness may vary depending on:

  • Frame size
  • Frame shape
  • Prescription power
  • Lens type selected by the customer
8. Customer-Owned Products Disclaimer

Orders processed using customer-owned frames, lenses, or any customer-provided products are undertaken entirely at the customer’s risk.

Specsmakers shall not be responsible for any:

  • Damage
  • Replacement
  • Refund
  • Reinstatement

related to customer-owned products.

9. International Shipping Policy

For international shipments:

  • A shipping fee of ₹2,000 will be applicable.
  • Any import duties, customs charges, or local taxes in the destination country must be borne by the customer.
10. Pricing & Packaging

All product prices include the cost of accessories, packaging accessories, and packing materials.

11. Communication Consent

By providing your mobile number and contact details at the time of order placement, you consent to receive promotional and transactional communication via:

12. Legal Jurisdiction

Specsmakers’ total liability in any case shall be limited only to the total purchase value of the spectacles or concerned product.

Any disputes shall be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Indian laws.
